CTSO--Career and Technical Education Student Organizations

All CTE courses require an element of ""outside classroom" experience or learning.  Generally this is achieved through participation in FFA, FBLA, Interact or TSA.  However, for students who can't participate in a CTSO, outside learning can occur in a variety of ways. Many lessons/activities incorporate the concepts of CTSO.

What is the FFA and what is its purpose?

The letters “FFA” stand for Future Farmers of America. These letters are a part of our history and our heritage that will never change. “Future Farmers of America” was founded by a group of young farmers in 1928. Their mission was to prepare future generations for the challenges of feeding a growing population.

What is FBLA and what does it do?

Future Business Leaders of America, Inc. ( FBLA) is the largest business Career and Technical Student Organization in the world. Each year, FBLA helps over 230,000 members prepare for careers in business.

What is Interact?

Interact is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young people. It gives young people, such as our high school students, an opportunity to participate in fun and meaningful service projects.

What is Technology Student Association?

TSA (Technology Student Association) is a CTSO devoted exclusively to the needs of students interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). It is open to young people enrolled in—or who have completed—technology education courses.
